Key mechanics
Haryana does not levy professional tax
Haryana does not levy professional tax. So a Haryana business has no professional-tax registration, does not deduct professional tax from employees' salaries, and pays none on its own trade or profession, one fewer state registration and remittance than a business in a professional-tax state. The old-regime professional-tax deduction is simply not relevant in Haryana because there is no professional tax to pay.
Haryana does not levy professional tax, so there is no PTRC/PTEC and no professional-tax deduction or remittance for a Haryana business. (No professional-tax statute in force in Haryana (professional tax is a state levy under Constitution Article 276; Haryana does not impose it))
Stamp duty and the women-buyer concession
Haryana property stamp duty is broadly in the region of 5% in rural areas and up to about 7% in urban (municipal) areas, plus a registration fee, with a concession of about 1 to 2 percentage points where the property is bought in a woman's name. Stamp duty also applies to business documents such as lease deeds. Rates are state-set and revised periodically, so verify the current figure against the Haryana revenue department before a transaction.
Haryana property stamp duty is broadly 5% rural / up to about 7% urban plus a registration fee, with a 1 to 2 percentage-point women-buyer concession; verify current figures against the state department. (Indian Stamp Act 1899 as applicable in Haryana + state amendments; verify against the Haryana Department of Revenue and Disaster Management)

Worked example
Vikas — Gurugram, HR
IT-services proprietor with staff buying an office in an urban area (2026-27)
Vikas runs an IT-services business in Gurugram with employees and buys office space in a municipal area.
Because Haryana does not levy professional tax, he has no PTRC or PTEC and deducts no professional tax from staff. On the office purchase in an urban area, stamp duty applies at broadly up to 7% plus a registration fee; if the property were registered in a woman's name the Haryana women-buyer concession (broadly 1 to 2 percentage points) could apply. He confirms current figures with the Haryana revenue department before registering.
